I’m repairing a Subaru Sambar that had its engine replaced, but I still can’t figure out why the new engine won’t start.
Suspecting a faulty ECU, I tried purchasing a different ECU.
However, it was a used one.
I asked the dealer and was told that a new one would cost 73,300 yen, so I gave up.
The part number written on the original part was “22644 KA124,” but it seems that the current part is “22644 KA410.”
It seems that there were several version changes between the KA124 and KA410, and some parts have different last three digits.
Looking at the wiring diagram, only automatic trucks have a different circuit diagram, so it seems that the ECU is compatible as long as the truck has an automatic transmission, regardless of whether it’s 4WD or 2WD.
I searched for a product with these specifications and found “22644 KA125,” so I purchased it.
I immediately replaced it and tried to start the engine, but it still wouldn’t start.
I also used a tester to check the ECU’s power supply and ignition wiring for continuity, but found no abnormalities.
I also opened up the ECU, but couldn’t find any visual abnormalities.

Hmm, hmm, hmm. This is a problem.
I wonder if it’s too difficult to replace the EN07V with the EN07F.
I thought it should be fine because I’m still using the intake manifold and harness from the original EN07V, but I wonder if the difference in the cam profile is affecting it?
The mystery just deepens, and I’m feeling a bit gloomy these days. (^_^;)
