Engine replacement -6- Oil cooler and head installation, GD-TT2

SUBARU SAMBER

The original engine, the EN07V, was an automatic transmission and had an oil cooler.

The replacement engine, the EN07F, was a manual transmission and did not have an oil cooler.

The photo shows the back of the EN07V oil pump assembly.

I thought I could just remove the oil cooler from the EN07V and transplant it into the EN07F, but I couldn’t remove the extension pipe that attaches the oil filter from the EN07F’s oil pump, so I couldn’t replace the oil cooler and ended up replacing the entire oil pump.

This photo shows the oil pump assembly removed from the EN07F.

The oil cooler and oil pump assembly have been transplanted to the EN07F.

I put the timing belt back on and re-tensioned it.

I also replaced the timing belt cover.

The tappet cover had apparently been removed and the inside inspected at the junkyard where I purchased it, so I removed it to replace the gasket.

There was quite a bit of sludge on it, so I tried to clean it off as much as possible.

When I removed the tappet cover, there was sludge on it like this.

By the way, when I looked at the spark plugs, I saw that the EN07F was equipped with BKR6E.
The EN07V comes standard with BKR5E-11, so it seems that the specifications change depending on the generation.
