There was an oil leak from the tappet cover, which was causing the exhaust manifold area to get wet, so I replaced the tappet cover gasket.
When I opened the tappet cover, I could see the area around the camshaft, and there was a lot of sludge, so it seemed like the oil management had been poor.
It’s a used car, so it can’t be helped…
The back of the cover was also completely black.
I tried to clean it as much as possible.
I replaced the gasket with a new one and reassembled it.
After this, I rushed the work, so there are no photos.
