Engine replacement -8- Cleaning the AT oil pan and connecting the engine, GD-TT2

SUBARU SAMBER

A lot of the ATF leaked out during this work, so I would like to get as much of the old ATF out as possible and then replace it.

I decided to open the ATF oil pan.

When I opened the oil pan, I found a filter inside.

Actually, this photo was taken after cleaning; it was much dirtier when I opened it.

This is how dirty it looked when I opened it.

The top is the filter and the bottom is the oil pan lid.
The lid has a magnet attached to it, and metal powder was attracted to it.

This is the AT viewed from below with the filter removed.
There’s no noticeable sludge or dirt inside, and it looks fairly clean.

After cleaning, it was reassembled.

Propeller shaft installed.

Reconnect the various pipes and electrical cables.

This is the piping around the ATF cooler.
