Spark plug replacement GD-TV2

SUBARU SAMBER

I removed the spark plugs and inspected them.

Not only were they extremely dirty, but the gap had opened up and they were in a pretty bad state.

The plug dirt and gap look like this.

I measured the gap and it was 1.4mm, 1.5mm, 1.6mm, and 1.7mm.
The standard is 1.0 to 1.1mm.

It seems better to replace them rather than adjust the gap.

The old spark plugs were DENSO K16PR-U11 (right side of the photo), which I think were the spark plugs used on the EN07 when it was equipped with a carburetor.

The specified spark plug for the EN07V, which has been converted to EFI, is NGK BKR5E-11 (left side of the photo).

After cleaning everything up and reinstalling the spark plugs, the engine started.
Combined with cleaning the ISC valve as mentioned in the previous section, the idling also seems to have stabilized.

The main reason it wouldn’t start was probably because the spark plug gap was incorrect, but after it’s been fixed it’s hard to say for sure.
Well, it’s fixed now, so I’ll just be glad. (^^ゞ
