Engine replacement -3- Transmission (AT) removal, GD-TT2

SUBARU SAMBER

The engine has been removed from the vehicle, but I plan to replace the engine itself with a used engine that I have prepared separately, and use the automatic transmission as is, so I will separate the engine and transmission.

I removed it because I plan to use intake system accessories as well.

This is a photo taken from the mission side.
My hands were covered in oil while working, so I couldn’t take many photos, and this is a commemorative photo I took after I finished work.

This is the transmission after it has been separated.

This is where I made a mistake.

The torque converter remains on the engine side, but you should actually remove the three bolts securing the torque converter to the end plate before separating the transmission.

If you do this, the torque converter will stick to the transmission and come off when you separate the transmission.

However, when I tried to remove the screws on the end plate, I couldn’t figure out where to start, so this is what happened.

It doesn’t seem like it will break, but ATF has started leaking out of the torque converter.

So, I quickly stuffed paper towels into the torque converter.
It looks like someone has a nosebleed, but I guess it’s the same thing…

This is the torque converter that remains attached to the engine side.

And here is the automatic transmission separated from the engine.
